Oh, some more stuff…
Oh the japes we have been having. We had some French People to stay on the Invocal farm, which was lots of fun. They were ever such a good band (www.myspace.com/leopoldsaffole) and very lovely people too.
Embarrassingly, Sarah seemed to think it was necessary to roll around on the floor speaking in tongues to communicate with our new friends. I don’t think she realised that in order to speak fluent French, all that is required is to speak English loudly in the style of Rene Artois. Or is that Zelwegger. Anyhoo, she didn’t seem to learn from my example, and continued whittering away with them, all “…bonjour, ca va…” this and “Je suis désolé de Rosie, elle a retardé” that.
Lots of other fun things … recording is going well. Rachel and I laughed for nearly two and a half days this week, when we realised that Gayton sounds a bit like gay. z#gjsn
adfgfdgjg Sorry. Just had another little laughing fit and lost control of my fINGERS*^%EF
Ahem.
We played at a Ladyfest London benefit last week, put on by those lovely girls from Helen’s Evil Twin (www.myspace.com/helenseviltwin). We had a smashing night, one of the many highlights being Sarah and Rachel winning the top prizes in the raffle. There was some talk of how the top prizes had actually been earmarked for the local children’s hospice, so obviously they had to leave pretty quickly after winning to avoid doing the right thing. Sarah actually climbed out of the venue via an air vent, clutching her by then grubby MP3 player in her teeth.
I went home straight after the gig and was tucked up in bed fast asleep by 11.30.
Unfortunately just as I was leaving, that fucking awful Posie from Onvical turned up and was generally a beer monster, kept her hosts up until 7am talking about herself and then tried to make them go the the pub.
She’s no restraints that girl, it’s sad really.
So then THIS weekend we played at The Black Cat and at a private party. Sarah did very well, because she’s been ever so poorly. She’s a very brave little thing actually. When she’s not trying to ruin my life.
All the recording is done for our Eepee, now all we need to do is mix it.
This is a very tricky part for me, I sit in a chair drinking tea and eating biscuits for a week saying No, No, No, NO. NO. no….no no no… no no no… no no no …no, no… no no, NO, NO, NO, NO
NO NO NO
NO NO
… … … ok.
Exhausting.
And then somebody complains that I’ve named only myself in the producing credits. But I can’t remember who.
We are playing at London pride this weekend, which I’m very excited about. I love lions.
